The importance of purity of the heart is that it allows us to draw close to Allah ﷻ. When we purify our hearts of distractions and bad characteristics we give our hearts the room to refocus our hearts on Allah ﷻ —this is when we can see things with clarity, and understand them as they truly are.
Clear Your Heart Before Shining…
The heart is like a mirror. It has to be pure before it shines.
When worldly things or people are in one’s heart, they act like dirt on a mirror. It becomes impossible for a heart full of ‘others’ to shine in this state.
This does not mean that we should ignore the world, our family, our wealth, our career, and our desires of eating, drinking, laughing, singing and so on…
The question is what is in the depths of your heart that receives the most attention and concern?
The reality is that it’s about realigning your attention back to Allah ﷻ and the Hereafter as that is our ultimate aim!
So to purify your heart is to cleanse it of other than Allah ﷻ and gain ultimate bliss. This is the importance of purity of the heart!
