Pray that you live a blessed life, not just a long life. If your life is blessed, you will reach in a short time, innumerable bounties from Allah ﷻ that cannot be comprehended.
Someone may live for many years without blessings in his life. Another person may live for a short time with many blessings and great good in his life. Allah’s ﷻ bounties in a blessed life are innumerable, even if short.
An Example of Success and Goodness for All Time…
We have a good example in the Prophet’s ﷺ life. In 20 years, he conveyed Allah’s ﷻ message to the world and changed the course of human history until the day of judgement. The Prophet’s ﷺ life was a blessed life that brought about much good and success to everyone.
Musab bin Umayr رضی الله عنه passed away in his thirties but served the cause of dawah in Medina before the Prophet’s ﷺ immigration. Abu Bakr as Sideeq رضی الله عنه ruled the Muslims for only 3 years but he founded a strong state. Many Imams passed away in their fifties but left behind dozens of influential books and thousands of students.
Because Allah knows we are far behind these people, he placed His blessing at certain times. For e.g. the Night of Power, the blessed Friday, the hour before dawn. Allah blesses the early hours of the day, and any activity we undertake during this time, whether it be work, worship or sport, will be blessed.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “O Allah, bless my nation in their early mornings”.
If we do something with pure sincerity for Allah, it will certainly receive blessings. A sincere life is a blessed life.
So step 28 to Allah ﷻ is to seek out these blessed times. Ask Allah ﷻ for blessings in all aspects of your life!
