Steps to Allah ﷻ : How do You Reflect?

Why should you take time to reflect? There is nothing more beneficial to the heart than reflection. Reflection for one hour is better than praying for sixty years.

Why is Reflection So Important?

Reflection is important because a person who takes the time to reflect on God and His creation for one hour is actually worshipping God with deep knowledge, sincere feeling, and spiritual light. This develops a stronger heart.

The Prophet ﷺ spent many periods of isolation such as in the cave of Hira and in the masjid for Itikaaf. Every living thing needs a period of isolation before it can grow or produce. Such as seeds in the ground and embryos in wombs. They need darkness in isolation away from external factors.

Similarly, a heart/mind needs a retreat in a mosque or a place that is isolated from people, to reach a state of enlightenment.

This temporary isolation takes the heart back to a true connection with Allah ﷻ! Otherwise, faith remains like a seed that was never buried underground and will never produce!

So to apportion time for reflection of God and His creation is time well spent. One of the best places to do so is in the Mosque as this is a place in which the Malaaikah (angels) are present, and this makes it easier to draw closer to Allah ﷻ
