Regardless of of how grave your mistakes, slips, and falls may be, they should not affect your hope. Your hope in Allah’s Mercy this Ramadan is key. You can do this by simply turning your heart to Him; because in reality, it’s not about whether we deserve Allah’s Mercy this Ramadan, but rather it’s about knowing that Allah is the Most Generous, and the Most Merciful.
Simply turn your heart to Him…
Allah’s Mercy encompasses all things. Whether they are a believer or not, whether they are a pious or not. It is losing hope in God’s Mercy that is the one thing we mustn’t do.
Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Allah Most High says: ‘I am according to My slave’s opinion of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers me to himself, I mention him to myself. When he remembers me in a gathering, I mention him in a gathering greater than that.’” [Bukhari; Muslim]
When we look at the good in our life it will likely outweigh the bad. The majority of life is good, or okay, punctuated by periods of difficulty. When we look at our lives from this perspective, as well as from one of gratitude, then how can we not be hopeful in Allah’s Mercy!
So realign your attention, bring your focus back to Him, and don’t lose hope — keep getting back up even if you fall seventy times a day!
“Say, ˹O Prophet, that Allah says,˺ “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Quran 39:53)
